Dr. Karen Hawk is a clinical psychologist and the owner of a private practice in Gilbert, Arizona, where she has led Resilience Counseling and Assessment since 2018. She provides a broad range of psychotherapeutic services with a strong emphasis on trauma treatment, including childhood abuse, institutional trauma, partner abuse, and infidelity-related distress. Her practice offers diverse clinical services, from individual therapy for children to group therapy for adults.
Born to refugee parents and raised in Europe, Dr. Hawk experienced the challenges of cultural transition firsthand—an experience that continues to shape her compassionate, globally informed perspective. As a U.S. Air Force veteran, she is deeply committed to supporting military families, immigrants, multicultural families, and individuals navigating diversity, identity, and acculturation challenges.
Throughout her career, Dr. Hawk has developed extensive experience with evidence-based interventions such as dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). She is also skilled in premarital counseling, co-parenting therapy, and the treatment of postpartum depression.
Dr. Hawk began her academic training in psychology at Minot State University. She went on to earn a Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from Argosy University in Phoenix, and later completed her Doctor of Clinical Psychology degree at the Arizona School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University.
